week 6 journal 5

From reading Denise Levertov poems "ache of the marriage" and "februrary evening of new york" ive caught the reaction that she likes to talk about social issues in her poems. After reading, " ache of the marriage" ive seen how good and bad a marriage can make a person feel. she connects her writings with feelings humans experienced. "The ache of marriage:
thigh and tongue, beloved,
are heavy with it,
it throbs in the teeth"
i feel its cool that she can do all that and still talk about what she want us to hear. in february evening of new york, she talks about what you would see or hear on a night in the city. you can invision such things because shes so in detail with her writing.
"As the lights brighten, as the sky darkens,
a woman with crooked heels says to another woman
while they step along at a fair pace,
"You know, I'm telling you, what I love best
is life. I love life! Even if I ever get
to be old and wheezy—or limp! You know?
    Limping along?—I'd still ... "
Out of hearing". she talks about seeing the bright lights at night and the way everyone walks so fast in a hurry to get where they need to go. i feel she makes us open up and relate to one another because we all feel the same things emotionally and physically
